I'll be promoted to senior in 26 days!
Weekly Highlight
Last Wednesday, I got this message from the Head of Experience Design:
Hey, senior Designer from 1st of August approved!
That felt amazing to hear. It was one of my big goals for the year. I knew it was going to happen based on my performance reviews. In November 2020, my Competence Lead (basically a UX manager) said that I just had to continue doing what I was doing, and I’d be a senior.
Well, I was doing that and A LOT more after I switched teams from Web Checkout to a team in Circular Business Model Incubation because:
I am designing for a holistic customer experience and need to collaborate cross-product and cross-area
I’m spearheading the shift from an execution-focused way of working to a discovery-focused way of working for innovation product teams
the whole organization is counting on my team to succeed to avoid disruption from a compeetitor
So actually - it’s about time! Still, I’m happy to have reached this milestone and receiving recognition from the XD leadership. Looking forward to what this title will open up!
Because you’re subscribed to my newsletter, you’re getting this news before my followers on Instagram and Youtube. Thanks for subscribing and being interested in these in-depth updates of my life!

Keep Your Relationship Healthy - The Happiness Lab (Podcast)
Today, we want our partner to help with personal growth and self-expression. The best couples today are better than couples in the past, but on average, they're worse.
The Making of a Manager (Book)
People don’t like to be formally asked to be someone’s mentor because it sounds time-consuming. Make anyone a mentor by asking questions to learn from them what they are good at.
With a fixed mindset, everything is a test of your worthiness and you're guided by fear. With a growth mindset, it becomes easier to ask for feedback. We have the power to improve ourselves and truth is the quickest way for us to get where we want to be.
The Daily Stoic (Book)
See everything as something you "get to do", instead of "have to do", to remind yourself of how fortunate you are.

Notes and thoughts on this video:
I’ve been having a hard time uploading videos consistently, so I tried thinking about it as answering a question from a coachee. It was so much easier!
My accountability buddy, Kim Tang, also pointed out that more of my personality shine through. I think it’s because I have less of a script lol.
I should continue recording during Golden Hour - it looks so good.
